The United Kingdom part 1 | To the UK!

On September 18th, around 9 PM I reached Changi Airport terminal 1. Checked in my luggage, and turned out it was overweight! But praise God the lady let me through. Thanks, lady!

After that, met up with Christine and Mardian. I was really touched that they would come and see me off!! Earlier in the morning also met up with Ghon. She came to AMK so I could have some quality time with her in my few last hours in Singapore. I really am touched. Really. Thanks, Ghon, Mardian, and Christine!!

In my head, this was no different from a two month break to Indonesia which usually doesn't deserve a sending-off. I mean, we are basically only gone for two months. What different does it make whether UK or Indonesia? So, Mardian and Christine coming to the airport to send me off was special. But then in the airport turns out my other friends had a lot of sender-offs. So I guess this really is something big!

My check in time and Ria's arrival time from Aussie was about the same. So, we went to pick her up in the arrival gate as well. I find it funny how I was about to leave Singapore, and still welcoming someone back here. It's almost ironic!

Mardian, Ria, CP, me looking fat. Wonder why. I hope I am not that fat.

Feli, me, Hao En, Huyen, Zee, Sinead. Ready for our 15 hours flight!

Waiting for Zee looking for her alcohol and cigarette for Vinay.

By the way, they had a very nice boarding pass. I took this pic while writing this post. I realize I never took a photo of it with my cam.

Back to the journey. I sat in the same row with Feli and Huyen.

The back row: Zee, Hao En, Sinead.

This was our dinner on board. Pasta with something like seafood tomato sauce.

Huyen's choice: green curry. School green curry plane green curry as well.

I watched "Sleeping with the Enemy" starring Julia Roberts. Wasn't bad. 7/10 lah! It was pretty intense.

By the time I finished watching, most of the passengers were already asleep. That's when it kicked in that this was an overnight 13 hours flight. The view was new, which makes it a unique experience though it was so normal: strolling through the isles of a very dark plane full of sleeping people. I usually travel when the sun is shining. My latest flights will still never have this view. Pretty amazing.

I get thirsty a lot during the flight. Like, our only water supply was only from that small little cup from the meal, and we're not allowed to carry our own water bottle. The flight attendant who kept attending to me wasn't friendly at all. But I don't care. I paid a lot for the flight you better give me some water.

Then, wanted to continue to watching "The Pirate Band of Misfits" but fell asleep soon after it started. Thank God I brought my neck pillow! It helped a lot man! Cos I know how tiring it gets when your neck just droops down when you sleep. So no matter how aunty I look, all hail neck pillows!

Woke up 6 or 7 hours later when the sun was already shining. Huyen and Feli was already awake, chatting away. This was our breakfast. The wedges were really good!

Watched "LOL" starring Miley Cyrus while eating breakfast. Didn't like Miley Cyrus to begin with. But the story was alright. 5/10?

Anyway, around 2 hours after breakfast, the plane landed in Helsinki. It honestly didn't feel like a 13 hour flight. The overnight sleep really sped it up.

The Helsinki airport. Do you know that Helsinki is a Design Capital? I didn't! Quite cool ah. But their airport meh only. Changi is still better.

Ms. Long Legs

Toilet break. Taking turns watching the bags.

Talk to the hand,

Trying to take a pic of ourselves. Zee abit fail ah.

K better!

Helsinki's toilet. Their hand wipe automatically rolls back in after use.

A cool looking cafe.

Interesting sitting pods.

A random racing machine. Really random.

Waiting room.

Tried to take a pic of our plane. Fail.

"K girls lets move!"

Another attempt for the plane. Fail #2

In the second plane ride, we sat with the same group. Just that this time, Zee's group sat in the front.

They served us a very nice sandwich. Didn't take a pic of it.

Some views from the window.

Our sky is really pretty!

Our flight from Helsinki to London took two hours.
London, bird eye view.

And finally, London!!! These are literally one of our early views of London.

Taking our luggage. All in all, Changi is still the best airport IMO.

After luggage, we went on looking for an underground train to the city.

Reaching the train station, we needed to buy an Oyster card. It is like Singapore's Ezlink.

From there, we needed to take the lift to bring us to the platform. And they have "-1" instead of "B1"!! How cute!

Happy woman.

London underground platform.

Waiting. Purple luggage is mine!

The train! But it was at the opposite platform. Not the one we needed.

Their train was so cute! It was so small. Smaller than our normal MRT. And their colors! Red, white, blue. I felt like I was in a disney train.
First published shot of us in a London underground tube! Clap clap

Me and Fel, refection.

Finally, left the underground! Ahh sunlight!!!
Window shot

This is London baby!

The countryside you read in your books!

All in all, it was such a great experience. The week felt so long since I have been absorbing heaps of new experiences. It was so fun! And wait till I share about Hillsong London. Oh I get happy just thinking about it!

So, TTYL!
